Each musical instrument had its own dedicated array of speakers. It was composed of more than 600 speakers, powered by dozens of amplifiers. It was recorded on November 9, 10, and 11, 1973, at the Winterland Ballroom in San Francisco, California. It contains three complete concerts, missing only the encore of the first concert. This was the very large and powerful concert sound system being used by the Grateful Dead at the time of these shows.
